Global-MSI recently carried out a full canopy refurbishment at the Morrisons Riversway petrol forecourt in Preston.
The existing canopy was in a very tired condition having suffered the ravages of North West wet weather since 1986. 32 years’ corrosion on both the top roof sheets and the aluminium undersheeting resulted in the canopy requiring a full overhaul. Previous repairs were visible on the underside of the canopy, this also contributed to the overall appearance of it being a dated structure.
Morrisons used the opportunity of a closure for pump replacement works to carry out the refurbishment works. As the closure time was business critical, the canopy refurbishment was allocated to Global-MSI. This ensured a quality finish, while minimising disruption to the overall works programme. Morrisons operate a high volume, high throughput operation on their filling stations and Global-MSI again proved to be the right contractor for these time critical works.
